EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL : POLYPHENOLS ARE IMPORTANT FOR OUR HEALTH.

The beneficial properties of polyphenols

Polyphenols are antioxidant substances that, in addition to contributing to the stability of the oil itself, can also have a positive effect on human health. Polyphenols perform an antioxidant action that is essential for fighting free radicals, preventing cellular aging, and helping to protect blood lipids from oxidative stress.
They are the only plant antioxidants whose beneficial health effects have been recognized by the EFSA (European Food Safety Agency)

To produce the Monini GranFruttato, we select only oils produced with olives harvested
slightly early in ripening,  from which a lower percentage of oil is extracted but which is very rich in antioxidants and polyphenols.

INSIGHTS

In addition to those officially recognized, many other scientific and medical studies are attributing other important health properties to the polyphenols in olive oil.
Polyphenols in extra virgin olive oil therefore play an important role both for human health and for the quality and shelf life of the product over time. These substances provide the typical spicy and bitter taste of fresh and quality extra virgin olive oil.

This is the reason why the daily consumption of Extra Virgin Olive oil is recommended if it is integrated into a healthy and balanced diet.
