Today the world is talking to us about sustainability: the challenges for tomorrow are many and the new generations, to whom we have a great responsibility, are clamoring for us to take action to make the world a better place.
To meet these challenges and make our contribution, we have therefore defined 3 pillars.
The quality of extra virgin olive oil, the tradition and innovation of its production and meticulous attention every step of the process, are part of an immense heritage we are constantly committed to defending and enhancing. This is why we aim to certify 100% of our products of Italian origin with the Consorzio Extravergine di Qualità mark, increase traceability through blockchain technology and use increasingly sustainable packaging, transported in lower environmental impact vehicles.
Starting from the field, we want to confirm and reinforce our commitment to the fight against climate change and the protection of natural resources. Technology is a precious ally, not only in the honing techniques, but also for reducing consumptions by means of more responsible water and soil usage. 100% integrated or organically farmed olive groves in ecosystems suitable for oil production with drip irrigation, 1 million new trees planted and over 50 thousand tons of CO2 sequestered: these are the targets we have set for creating a farming model that is in harmony with the environment and safe, capable of preserving all the value of biodiversity.
By investing in the health and well-being of future generations, we intend to guarantee ten years of support for scientific research into the nutraceutical and nutritional genomic properties of extra virgin olive oil, through experimental and scientific popularisation projects, also in partnership with Fondazione Umberto Veronesi. Scientific research is underpinned by our commitment to spreading the culture of extra virgin olive oil and healthy nutrition, which combined with sport and movement, is the model for a healthy lifestyle. We do all this through the educational program “Monini for School”, through which we will reach out to 1 million students, and on occasion of a series of big sporting events, in which we will come into contact with 200 thousand people.
